Here's the first glimpse at our Havasupai Falls Trip.
Havasupai Falls are west of the Grand Canyon, a little oasis in the beautiful desert canyons. Here are just a few pictures, but there are more to come. Half of our group included Jeff Larsen, Taletha Judy, Kelly Fitzsimmons, Brooke Stoddard, Skyler Richards, Brooke Silvester & me.

Moonie Falls!
Stretching on our way out of the canyon. We did some special stretches for Skyler and Brooke.
Moonie Falls in the distance as we were hiking through the river.
This was an awesome trip with some great friends!

Tagged - 4 of 4
Brooke Silvester tagged me recently, and I decided I'd finally play along. I saw that Jeanna and Gina did, and figured I will too. The tag is to post the 4th picture of the 4th folder.
This was in the winter of 2005 over Christmas Break. I was with my family driving to the Denver Av's Hockey Game. For some reason I was chillin' with my iPod and playing with my camera. Hmm. Anyway, the Hockey game was fun to watch but the California Kings had complete control the entire game and won. The girls - Mom, Jana and I, had the nosebleed tickets while the guys - Dad, Ryan, Brandon & Devin, had the box seats. A few days later at the Denver Nuggets game we switched and Dad, Mom, Jana and I were in the box and Ryan, Brandon and Devin had the nosebleeds. The mascot jumped up on the ledge of our box, right in front of us and danced all along the ledge. Needless to say, Jana and I were dancin' as well (while filming the dancing mascot, of course).
Family times. Good times.
I tag: Jen Wecker, Christy John, Natasha Rodriguez, Katie Anderson & Julie Brown!

More than just Insurance
Tonight I finally called and updated my car insurance. I received a quote from Progressive last night and called to review everything and pay for it and had an interesting conversation. The sales associate lives in Ohio and it is about 1:30 in the morning her time, but she is very helpful and talkative. I asked her how she likes Ohio and what fun things are there and she told me about this incredible roller coaster that is the biggest in the united states. Sounds amazing. I'll have to visit sometime. She asked about Idaho and said she could not imagine what it looked like, so I asked her if she'd heard of Yellowstone National Park. She had and I told her it was close and she could come visit and see the geysers, buffalo, and go river rafting - this she was very excited about. I told her about our cute little down town, the Temple near the River, and how fun it is to have so many outdoor adventures close. She said she'd always wanted to come to Yellowstone and knowing that there's rafting she'll have to come.
She asked if I had any trips planned and I told her I was going to Havasupai soon. She has been to Lake Havasu. What random person has been to Lake Havasu? She said she learned of it when her son was in grade school and one of the kids presented a book report on the London Bridge. Apparantly Robert P. McCulloch purchased the London Bridge for 2.5 million dollars when it began to sink in the River Thames in London, and brought it to Arizona - on Lake Havasu. One website explains it took 3 years and another 7 million dollars to dismantle, ship and rebuild the London Bridge, which now connects Lake Havasu City with an island in the lake. The same site says the bridge's "massive body of stone brings the essence of England to Arizona". When she heard this story about the bridge she and her son had to go and see it. As she described her trip I googled Lake Havasu and saw the London Bridge. Random! I was excited to learn one more fact about this place before our trip. I don't think we'll even go to Lake Havasu on the backpacking into Havasupai Falls, but we'll see. We talked for at least 30-40 minutes and had a great time.
Finally we finished up the payment and email confirmation of the insurance policy and said goodbye. Before hanging up I had to find out the name of my new and now lost phone friend. Her name is Joy. I wish Joy the best.
