I was the one in glasses!!!

This morning I woke up at 5:30 to go to a more intense water aerobics class at 6:00. I changed into my suit and started getting ready, including putting my contacts in. As soon as I put in the first contact my eye burned tremendously. Then I did a quick calculation and realized my contacts couldn't have been in the solution for the necessary 6 hours when I went to bed at 1 o'clock. My spare contacts dried out and weren't usable so I had to be the one who wore glasses to class!

Class was much more intense today. We wore these floatation things on our feet and I felt extremely awkward in them at first. The challenge is to keep them under the water, so it is a "core" workout to keep them from flipping you up-side-down. We some other props as well and had a great time toning and even racing across the length of the pool. I just didn't feel an amazing sense of accomplishment winning because most of the women were either twice my age or size. The class, in general, is quite a self-esteem booster.

Water Aerobics!

Thursday morning I went to a water aerobics class, expecting to be the youngest one there and definitely correct. I knew the class might not be as challenging as I thought when I counted four women wearing glasses...hmmm. How can you do an intense water aerobics workout in glasses? It turns out I was the only one wearing any kind of little shorts or anything to cover up my less than perfect thighs. These women were just comfortable with their bodies or oblivious, I'm not sure which.

Fifteen kind, energetic, and welcoming older women accepted me into their class and made sure they knew my name and introduced me. The back section of the class was for the talkers...I guess this was their social hour. They would kind of bob up and down, moving their arms in the water (we were in the shallow end), while the instructor taught and motivated us.

One woman came in dancing and singing some Christmas song about snow because it was snowing outside. (Yes, I am in Idaho.) What a hilarious experience with such uninhibited, kind women.

The workout can be as intense as you make it, so I worked hard and tried to make it worth it.

We didn't do any fancy syncronized swimming, but had fun none the less.

Great workout with great entertainment!

Loved Conference

This General Conference was a memorable one for members of the Church by being able to sustain President Thomas S. Monson as the new Prophet for the world and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I feel that he truly is called of God and has the mantle of a prophet upon him. The talks were wonderful and the Spirit was so strong while listening to these inspired words.

Fabulous time in Salt Lake with Celeste!

This weekend I drove down to Salt Lake with a friend to visit dear Celeste. Friday night we went out to a Thai restaurant with some of her friends, it was great. The ambiance was perfect, including lotus flower overhead lamp shades and a large Buddha covered with Thai money. We then went to the Gateway, got some great treats, then played games at their house.

Saturday we went shopping for additional accessories to decorate her beautiful apartment. So fun.
